Script Changes.
We have decided to change the script and plot slightly, removing the false threat of the brother coming into Jake's room, and instead leave it as a mystery. Which still causes threat and fear causing Jake to be freaked out and run out of the house in a frantic rush.
New script;
Jake is sat at his desk listening to thumping music. Behind him is a shadow-like figure, which increasingly gets closer to him, as this happens the audience hear the sound of a heart beating and an increase to the volume of Jake’s music. As Jake’s phone plays the sound of a message alert he swiftly turns around and sees that there is nothing there, however he is still scared and so calls out.
JAKE:
"Hello, anyone there, hello?!"
Jake then laughs at his stupidity and paranoia and turns back to his desk. There is then a close up of his petrified eyes wide open in shock. He has been murdered.
Script
Opening two minutes of Shadow Massacare
Jake is sat at his desk listening to thumping music. Behind him is a shadow-like figure, which increasingly gets closer to him, as this happens the audience hear the sound of a heart beating and an increase to the volume of Jake’s music. As Jake’s phone plays the sound of a message alert he swiftly turns around to discover his younger brother Billy stood there in his Halloween costume.
JAKE
“Shit bill”
BILLY
(Laughs)
JAKE
”Get out of my face, you unwanted adopted waste of space”
BILLY
“ Shupp yeah…”
JAKE
“Shup Noooo”
BILLY
“So any cool Halloween parties you want to invite me to tonight”
JAKE
“ Dream on son”
BILLY
(leaves room satisfied with his prank)
Jake turns back to his computer to find an IM pop up on his screen. The message reads; “ I know what you have done Jake Lesley Harold West”. This instantly grabs Jake’s attention as only one person in the world other than his parents and best friend knows his whole name, so he replies with; “Who are you?” There is no reply. Jake looks down at his phone at his previously received text to discover the words “Tim’s been murdered”. Jake petrified leaves his room and runs down road in dark, he feels like he is being followed
Scene cuts to Jake’s college.
The next day at college Jake is confronted by his mates, they question him as to the reason why he did not attend the party that night, the party he was so excited about. Jake did not attend the party as the message scared him. On his journey into school Jake feels the sense of someone else presence following him, but sees nothing. He is then informed a close friend was brutally murdered on his way home from the party, Jake has been named a suspect as he has no alibi, this is the start of his world being torn apart.
HANNAH
(in tears) “ Jake, where the hell were you last night, Tim’s dead, everybody has been looking for you, why Jake, what would they want with you?”
JAKE
(Turns around in a daze looking around him)
