Faded light for certain locations, E.G. foggy weather, less lighting.
1 source lighting-can go with handheld idea: source of light only on camera , more realism effect, also creates tension in the audience.

Shadowed images: use of depth of field, can show faded images in background, when on close up on a character. Makes the audience know there something there but don’t know what it is or when it will strike.
Isolated locations/locations that have a dark history.
Foggy area- creates mystery in the location?

Shots- Extreme long shots for location.
- High use of low angle shots of main characters.
- Quick movement of camera allows realism to watchers.
Pause phases on open sections, for example, a dark corridor with CU view, creates suspense in audience, knowing that something is about to happen but don’t know when, also can add a slow zoom effect on the pause sections, adding more suspense.

Sound- Dark ambiance to create suspense, on high tense areas/to create cliff hangers: non Diegetic.
Quick temp music on a chase scene? (If there is a chase scene: non-Diegetic).
Dialogue maybe: Diegetic.
Subtitles of directors name, etc, etc.
Off screen sounds- E.G scream or a faint noise.
Types of Diegetic noise- screaming, faint rushing noise also.

Posture- aware of your surroundings/feeling of being watched?
Ability to create fear into the audience from the film.
Name- firstly draws people in: links to target market (teens 16+ or 18+ mainly).
Costume- clothes which go into the culture actor is playing, also the likely hood of clothing that age group would wear at that time period.
